Governance & Independence

HCI works with the industry through a governance model that protects intellectual independence.

HCI works with operators, suppliers, investors and institutions through a governance model that protects intellectual independence. Research priorities, conclusions, awards processes and institutional positions follow dedicated methodologies and decision frameworks. Commercial partnerships support access, programmes and implementation while each institutional function retains its own governance.

Principles

  • Independent institutional governance
  • Transparent methodology
  • Dedicated decision frameworks for research, partnerships, awards and investment activity

Decision frameworks

Each function applies its own framework, documented and reviewed annually.

Research
Study design, sampling and indicator construction follow the published methodology. Findings publish as measured.
Partnerships
Commercial agreements define access, programmes and implementation support. Editorial and research decisions stay with the Institute.
Awards
Categories, jury composition, mention thresholds, scoring and oversight publish in advance of each edition.
Investment activity
FoodAngels members evaluate collectively and decide individually. HCI contributes scouting and sector intelligence.

Commercial partnerships

Partners fund access, programme delivery and implementation. Their support widens the reach of the Institute's work and shortens the distance between evidence and practice.

Each institutional function retains its own governance over content, conclusions, jury processes and public positions.
